DIVI4 to DIVI5 Migrations

Does your current website use DIVI?  Well, if you don’t already know, we’ve got some exciting news for you.

DIVI 4 (Since Forever)

You are probably on DIVI version 4, as that has been their only stable public release for MANY years. DIVI has been an absolutely revolutionary page builder for thousands (if not millions) of users.   The ease of use and stability has been really great, making many users feel that this is really how WordPress’ “Gutenberg” editor should have really been more like – easy to use, drag drop, no code needed, intuitive, and all the modules a standard website could really need.  All things DIVI 4 really did better than pretty much any other page builder from a usability standpoint.  But, it did come with some downsides – not many – but some.  One of which, was performance.  Although it does perform “pretty well” speed wise, it uses Shortcodes, so if you’re not fully cached with CDN etc, this could really slow things down just a notch compared to if they didn’t architect things this way.  This is something we optimized many sites to make up for, but it would really be nice not to have to.  And, the slowness of just loading the visual editor itself was also annoying at times.  Enter: DIVI5.

DIVI 5 (Upcoming Public Release Date: February 26, 2026)

After many requests by developers and website owners to improve speed, they’ve made a HUGE overhaul to the DIVI theme and page builder that is really worth the switch: DIVI 5 is now having the public release on February 26th, 2025 – just 3 days from the writing of this post!

Performance Boost

By switching to DIVI5 everything loads faster, but nothing more noticeable than the editor itself.  The drag/drop page builder DIVI has been amazing, but the DIVI5 builder really turns things up a notch by loading way faster and being more responsive.  It feels a tiny bit more like Elementor in the UI, because the new IU is not quite as big and bold button-wise, but in some ways that’s nice, because now they fit a lot more in the UI in a tighter, more elegant way.  In some ways, it doesn’t have quite the same obvious ease of use as DIVI 4, but really after just 1 time using it, you’ll get used to the UI/UX changes and start to appreciate the speed.

Migrating from DIVI 4 to DIVI 5

Making the switch to DIVI 5 is a bit intimidating if you’ve put a lot of work into your DIVI WordPress site on version 4.  What if everything breaks?  What if the custom design aspects don’t translate over quite right?  There’s a lot of questions for most website owners and website managers about making the switch – but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!  We’ve already switched many sites from DIVI4 to DIVI5 and fixed any small issues that might crop up in the designs as a result, and we’re happy to help migrate your site, too.
